French Concession

This photograph was made in the French Concession in Shanghai. The neighborhood was built and designed by France during a period of occupation and surrendered to the Chinese after WWII. Once a neighborhood filled with affluent westerners, the area is now populated by wealthy Chinese. Everything has changed except the architecture.
