Myvatn Dawn

This is another painting inspired by Iceland- the sketch for it was made when I was camping on the shores of lake Myvatn, a green patch amongst the lava rock and sulfur springs. Before starting this work, I studied extensively the landscapes of Caspar David Friedrich, searching for his methods of carrying across the beauty and loneliness found in places untouched by civilization.
